Terms of service

Effective 19 September 2026 · covers getsangat.com, the Sangat web app, and Sangat Pro wherever it is bought.

1. Who these terms are with

Sangat is made and operated by Sudheer Singh, an individual based in India ("we", loosely). By using the web app or buying Sangat Pro you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, the free tier remains yours to enjoy without them.

2. The free tier

The free tier is for personal use, needs no account, and may be used for as long as you like. We may change what the free tier contains, but the intent is on the pricing page in plain sight: it stays a complete daily practice instrument.

3. Sangat Pro and your account

Buying Sangat Pro grants you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Pro features. Your entitlement lives on your account — the email you signed in with — and is available on every device you sign in on, whether you bought on this site, in the iPhone app or in the Android app. An account is for one person; keep your sign-in codes to yourself.

4. Subscriptions

Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until cancelled. A subscription bought on this site is cancelled through the Dodo Payments customer portal — linked from your email receipt — or by emailing us; one bought in a phone app is cancelled in that store's subscription settings, under Apple's or Google's terms. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for, after which the apps return to the free tier. Nothing you saved is deleted.

5. Founders lifetime

The founders lifetime purchase is a one-time payment for Pro access for the lifetime of the product — for as long as Sangat is offered and maintained. It is not a subscription, renews nothing, and is covered by the same refund policy as everything else.

6. Payments and refunds

Sales on this site are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record; their checkout terms apply to the transaction itself, and they handle applicable taxes and invoicing. Sales inside the iPhone and Android apps are made by Apple and Google under their store terms, and their refund rules apply there. For purchases made here, refunds are simple: seven days, no questions.

7. Fair use

Do not share your account, resell or redistribute your access, attempt to circumvent the Pro gating, or use the app to build a competing dataset of its recordings. That is the whole list.

8. Ownership

Sangat — its code, models, and arrangement of recordings — remains ours and its licensors'. The recorded instruments are used under Creative Commons and Pixabay licences; full credits are in the app. What you create in your own practice is, of course, entirely yours.

9. No warranty

Sangat is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a practice companion, and we work hard on its accuracy — but we do not warrant that it is uninterrupted or error-free, and your teacher's ear outranks it.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for anything arising from the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes fall to the courts there.

12. Changes

If these terms change materially, the effective date above changes with them, and continued use after that means acceptance. We will not change what a purchase you already made entitles you to.
